For seated playing, I really prefer not to have a stand. However, I have seen discussion in this forum about "rubber feet" used to lift the drum up, like from a floor or carpet surface. While I did once see some in a local shop, I am told they were actually designed for a different type of drum (smaller than a conga) but they would have worked perfectly I believe. They are apparently no longer available.
I am simply trying to lift the conga up off my carpet surface to permit better sound when I practice (when not stradling it). Looking for ideas or source for the appropriate type of "feet" to do the job. All ideas respected.

delkron,

LP makes some rubber feet that are hard rubber, yet are pliable to fit snugly. But...they are designed to fit WOOD congas only. They come in sets of 4 with a nylon rope to keep them together. I bought them for my congas; however, my congas are fiberglass and they did not fit tightly. If you have wood congas, they should fit firmly without having to remove and re-install everytime you move them. See the pic below.

I saw a conguero also place his congas on a piece of 12" ceramic tile to allow for sound reflection off the bottom of the drums. This is especially important on carpet, which tends to absorb the sound. Good luck.

These feet are exactly what I saw in one of the local shops. The service staff didn't know where they came from and told me they were now unavailable.
I have been unable to find them on any of the many web sites, including the LP site. Anyone know a source for these?

delkron,

LP637
LP Rubber Conga Feet
US List - $22.00

On the LP web site's main page, click "Product Showcase"...then "Online Catalog"...then "Conga Accesories"...then "LP Rubber Conga Feet".

You'll probably have to order them. Give your local LP dealer the above information. Not all dealers know their product's entire line. They should have gone the extra inch and looked them up for you. You may want to try another dealer that will go the extra inch for their customers.
