Hi body.
The best microphone for all aplications is the Shure SM57 because the frecuency of res ponce is good for instruments and the cost is low in comparation with others.
If you want other the Shure beta 57 is the best selection with no other, but the cost is more.
Bye.

I've used the Audix D-1 and D-2 mics. I really brings my old wooden Gon Bops to life! The only down side is that the mic is designed to be postioned 2" in and 2" up of the head at a 90' angle. I always worry about ripping off a nail.

Hi my fellow rythmist. I was wondering where the best place to place the microphone? Under the conga? or above?

The best place for the recording of the conga is in front of and somewhat abouwe the conga. All the best, Erik.
