generally the shell construction looks a lot better than mine. unfortunate about those saggy aluminum bands though -- they really don't need to be there.

I'm going to try re-skinning the two isla quinto's that I have. the requinto is the best constructed of my set, but his has a 1/4 inch steer hide on it that is rather suffocating -- needs LOTS and LOTS of tension to be playable and then it's like hitting a brick. I will say, it's rather remarkable that the drum has not blown apart with how much tension that head needs. my quinto... not sure what to do with it. The crown is too big for the drum but I haven't found anything to replace it without laying out too much money, the construction is also the worst of my set. held together with stripes of sawdust and glue.
