one handed playing

Hi everyone.
Is anyone here who play conga one hand while playing on cowbell or cymbal. Can you pleas explain right way to do it. Maybe there are some videos on youtube. I just can't find enough information.

I recommend you work on basic cascara in one hand and the slaps/open tones on one drum in a basic tumbao.

You can also try clave or cáscara / palitos on one hand and the guaguancó on congas with the other hand. This, IMHO, helps to learn feeling the rhythm. Same with every abakuá drum part : clave with one hand and the drum part with the other one, etc.

So is it not so important to play all strokes of tumbao?

IMHO, and as vxla said, it's more important to play the "sounding" strokes (slap and open tones) with the other hand playing something complementary (clave, cáscara, bell, ...). As I said, this will help you to feel the rhythm. If you play all the strokes (i.e. also palm and fingertips), you will get tired very quickly.
