I have a Patato conga and tumba and want to get a third drum. I play funk, R&B, and some Latin. Should I get a second conga or a quinto? I've been wearing out Daniel Ponce's "Chango Te Llama" cd and I'm sure he's using a quinto in his setup. But I'm wondering if a conga can be tuned into the range of a quinto?

Some folks have said they don't like the lack of space. I think its what you are used to. I have vintage gon bops and my largest drum is the 'large conga' at 11 inches. So that is the size of a modern quinto ... no issues for me ... maybe for people with really big hands maybe ... again I thinks its what you are used to.

I think a quinto would be especially nice for funk

Quinto is for Rumba..If you noticed Giovanni has been using a Conga(middle drum) as the high drum for years..I also use 2 congas and a Tumba when i play 3...
