Hello Everyone!
Glad I found this forum! Does anyone know where one can find examples of the rhythm Batanga, and any other lesser-known Afro-Cuban rhythms. in the form of, Internet audio clip or instructional or performance videos. Thanks!

Batanga was created by pianist Bebo Valdés around 1950's. Changuito does go over this rhythm in his video "Evolution of the Tumbadoras". Check out early recordings of Bebo Valdés. One good internet source is audiogalaxy.com
Hope this helps!

When it is stated that Bebo Valdes created the Batanga rhythm, does that mean the particular arrangement of a composition that became the basis of a style, as opposed to the particular conga pattern? Do any of you use the pattern Changuito shows in the Evolution of the Tumbadora video? Does anyone know of any examples on any popular cds, or have you seen any examples on youtube. Thanks!
