FS: Gon Bops Bata Full Set

Postby msb501clave » Tue Jul 13, 2010 2:43 am

I have for sale here a nice full set of Gon Bops Bata. The shells are in very good condition and have the gon bops fiberglass coat. The hardware shows its age with some pitting which I cleaned up fairly well. The lugs are not all original but are fully functioning. I am currently mounting new heads as the hairy cow that was on them sounded like crap. The owner would like to get $700 ( feel free to make offers i can help persuade the seller.) plus shipping which would be about 60 bucks as the drums weigh about 60lbs packed. This is a good deal for those wanting a nice set of Bata to practice one. email msb@landhpercussion.com

If I had the money I might not have been able to resist the temptation. I bought a GB bata from bengon awhile back, same model, 11" and 7 1/4", so then I would have had a set of 4. I am still learning to play the one I have, and I have never heard of anybody playing more than 3. If the new skins are as good as those on mine, someone will have a terrific set of batas at a very nice price.

Yes and they at times add up to 7 drums depending on the amount of players.

Hey mike it looks like you did a beautiful job....I was just starting to learn Bata with John Amira and then my life got overwhelmed...family illness etc. I stopped studing with him although I wish I had not. I just had too much going on and still do. I have a set though or I would be interested in these. Do you know around what year they were made? How does the fiberglass sound ? I have only seen wooden batas. Also what color are these? They seem to go from red to brown? Can you post a couple of more pics? JP
