I'm looking for nylon adjustable straps that can tie to the metal hardware...it's so it won't fall off lap.
I've checked Walmart and Lowe's...nothing that can help. My bata set is Sonoc.

Anything in particular? I'm at a Lowe's right now. Do they have a specific name.

I did see those, but that's too much strapping. For the Iya, 6 feet would be on the the large side. The store didn't have anything smaller than 10 feet...will have to research more to get a strap that is more appropriate.
Thanks anyway!

Do an amazon search for them. These ones look pretty good-
http://www.amazon.com/Skooba-RoadWired-Universal-Replacement-Shoulder/dp/B000AI2SZW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qlEnable=1&qid=1260831322&sr=1-5I think the ratchets posted above would be overkill, but I've never tried it before for drums.

That is just a strap to carry bags or something over your shoulder.
Fibre needs straps to tie down and secure set of 3 tambores bata while playing. A shoulder strap will not cut it.
You can get non industrial use ones, all the guys here who play 3 bata use these. Tie down and secure them in place with no problem. Simply have the ratchet section on the underside away from the body of the drums to prevent scratching.

Oh, I don't think I made myself clear. It wasn't to strap a pyramid of 3 batas...although they can possibly be used for that.
It's for individual, seated strapping...around legs for Okonkolo and Itotele, and around waist-back for Iya. I found some 6 ft. heavy duty straps at an Ocean State Joblot (a cheap, discount store in New England) for $7.00. I tested them out with my Okonkolo and Iya, and worked out great.

oh yeah, for strapping just for individual playing purpose those shoulder straps will be fine. even one off an old gym bag would do the job fine.
